C.W. Jefferys' notes about this picture from The Picture Gallery of Canadian History Volume 2
The decade from 1820 to 1830 was marked by the erection of numerous buildings of the Church of England in western Upper Canada, of which St. John's, Stamford, erected in 1825, is a typical specimen. That at St. Thomas dates from 1824.
