The caption for it, on the
frontpage of the Toronto Star of July 25,1908 is “The Celebration at Quebec: Sir Wilfrid Laurier presenting the address of welcome from the Canadian Government to the Prince of Wales on his landing.” The occasion was Quebec’s 300th anniversary. The celebrations included a huge pageant on the Plains of Abraham. CWJ drew the July 23rd illustration which portrayed many of the characters from pageant in uniform gathered on Dufferin Terrace, mingling with “soldiers, sailors, visitors…” The 27th of July drawing is of “Mayor Garneau presenting the casket, containing the civic address of welcome to the Price of Wales.” And on the 29th, the Prince is pictured motoring through St. Joachim. - Toronto Star - July 23, 1908
