Official sanction for the uniform of the Queen's Rangers of Upper Canada is given in the following letter:
War Office, 7 October, 1791.
I have the honour to acquaint you that His Majesty has been pleased to consent that the uniform of the Corps now to be raised under your command shall be green, and of the same pattern as was worn by the late Corps of Queen's Rangers, which you commanded during the late war. I have the honour to be, etc.,
